Myth 1: Cardio is the only form of exercise to lose weight

For a more effective exercise to lose weight, you will need to incorporate both cardio and strength training exercises that will help burn more calories.

Myth 2: Doing crunches and ab workouts will get you the six-pack

No amount of crunches exercises will help you get the six-pack if you have a high percentage of body fat. If you want your six-pack abs, you have to reduce your body fat percentage through proper fitness regime and nutrition.

Myth 3: Lifting weights makes women bulky

Women does not produce enough testosterone than men to be able to bulk up noticeably unless through rigorous workout programs combine with muscle building supplements and diet.

Myth 4: Stretch to prevent injury before working out

Some studies suggest our muscles are less prepared for strenuous exercise through pre-workout stretch. Instead, you can utilize dynamic and functional movement warm up to help you move better during your fitness workout.

Myth 5: Eating one big meal a day will help lose weight

Your body requires regular nutrients from foods to function properly. When you missed a meal, it will also lower your metabolic rate that can cause weight gain. Skipping meal may lead to impulsive overeating in the long run.

Myth 6: Your weight is a measured of everything

The weighing scale isn’t the best representation of your fitness level. As you start building muscle, you often see the weighing scale going up as muscle weighs more than fat. Body measurement and how your clothes fit will help to track weight loss and body development.

Myth 7: Protein shake as a main meal

While protein shake is a convenient way to boost protein intake after your workout. It does not provide all the nutrients you get from eating a balanced meal through natural food sources for good health.

Myth 8: No pain, no gain

You should not feel pain while working out, and if it does you may be doing it wrongly. If it hurt, stop immediately and rest. Consult a doctor if pain persists.
